Post Audit/Security Log

We are attempting to do away with our time clock here where I work and track when people come and go for payroll purposes based on when they log on in the morning, log out for lunch, etc. but the security log on Windows NT 4.0 is logging successfull log on and log off events, like every 5 minutes on each workstation instead of just the initial log on and log off. Its as if it does it each time someone accesses a network resource such as a file or printer. NT must authenticate each time this happens and logs it in the security log as a successfull log-on.

I just need a log of morning, lunch, and going home, log on and log offs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
