Question nerocheck.exe in startup?

Hi,
After updating Nero I saw this in msconfig/startup. My computer has froze a few times at startup while on the black screen since I upadated nero. Could this be the culprit? I did a search on google, one website says delete it, it is not necessary, another one says it is needed if you log on and are not the administrator, I'm the only one who uses my PC so I guess I'm configured as the administrator. I do not want to delete it from msconfig/startup because then I get warning messages at startup that I have changed things or something like that. It is in Windows/system32 can I delete it from there? What is a good program that tells you what is running and helps you get rid of them. This is for the system in my signature.
TIA

If a program runs at startup and is not in the Startup folder, it is in the registry. I use RegCleaner, which allows you to see which programs are starting from the registry, and delete the ones you don't want. The program also automatically backs up the registry before you make changes, so if you remove nerocheck and something goes wrong you can easily fix it.

Thanks doctorgonzo,
It isn't in startup. Is RegCleaner in XP or is it a program I have to download? Is this it: http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-....html?tag=list ?

As to nerocheck, I always delete it out of my registry. It is just to check for updates [and for the anti-virus plug in I think] Nerocheck it put there each time you update nero

Glad to hear you got everything fixed to yoru liking. I hate programs that automatically include those auto-update programs.
