How to update this driver ?

I am looking to update a HDD driver in ME.. when in Control Pannel System under disk drives u can use one of the tabs to do one of those auto updates but unlike XP the internet is not offered as an option.. Basically I need the newest driver and the only way I know how to get it is through XP, but I cant download it without installing it due to XPs way of doing things and I cant get the internet listed as an option in ME to download it..

Basically I need a driver for my HDD in ME and I cant get it ??

Is there anyway to use ME to do one of those automatic driver lookups from the NET like XP..
And if NOT how do I get this driver inside or outside ME so I can instal it in ME..

Hope everyone can follow...

Hard Disks do not use drivers in the way you are thinking. You can update the chipset drivers if they are available. For this you need to visit the motherboard manufactures site. Be aware that updating them will only solve problems that might have exisited with previous versions, there will be no increase in performance. Additionally Floppy Drives and CD-Rom drives use native drivers that are from the operating system.

Hey thanks..

Im actually updating the drivers due to another post in the hardware forum about my HDD... as described in the mail it does not appear in ME but it appear in XP.. in ME it doesnt appear inexplorer but it does in System... no one has any ideas and ive tried everything.. I just thought maybe because my current 'driver' is dated june of 2000 in ME and the XP one is dated dec of 2001.. I thought this could be why.. Basically it is a Big 80 GIG and I thought my ME driver might have trouble with such a large disk.. Check another post by ME today in the HW forum for the full deal..

Cheers..
