I can't use my CDROM Drive nor my CDRW drive all of a sudden....
I've lost the use of my cdroms on a windows 2000 pro pc. the device manager has both listed but have error 31. Here's the report: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31).
can anyone help please?

Check to make sure that the drives are still being detected in the BIOS. If they are not, check the connections inside the computer case to make sure that a cable hasn't been knocked loose or something like that. Is this a home built computer or store bought? Once your certain the connections are good, check to see if Windows still won't recognize them. If that's the case, try removing the devices from the device manager, restarting, and let Windows detect them again.
