Angry entry point _resetstkoflw not found in library msvcrt.dll

Here's the problem i am facing. I recieve this message after reboot and after the splash screen "The procedure entry point _resetstkoflw could not be located in dynamic link library msvcrt.dll" It pops up twice once with services.exe and the second lsass.exe in the title bar. I am running WinXP Home Edition on an HP laptop the HD is NFTS partitioned. The factory disk only has the option Of reinstall...or a diagnostic . Both does me no good. So i can't replace the .exe files The only boot disk i have is FAT32 so i can't get through to the c:\ prompt in dos to copy and paste the files. If you can give me some help I would appreciate it. As you can tell i can't format the HD I have very important docs on it. Thanks.
