Start, settings, control panel. Select display. Select setings tab.

Hi johnatan
Seems like you're system is having trouble with the video driver, and has switched to the "Standard VGA" video driver until you can get it fixed. The Standard VGA is built into Windows, and only uses 16 colors (that's what displays the screens while your computer first begins to startup). Try booting into Safe Mode (hold down the CTRL or SHIFT keys while starting), uninstalling, and reinstalling your video drivers. Post again if you need more help. (here in this thread) . . . Gary |

Right click MyComputer> go to properties, then the device manager tab. You will see display adapter near the top and can remove or update the drivers from there. You may have an actual hardware problem though. What kind of video do you have?? If you aren't sure what kind of PC s it??

Hi again
Like kt mentioned, if you'd like, you can post the name of your video card -or onboard video, if you'd like us to help you walk through the procedure. My guess is that the game you played updated your Direct X which might not work that well with your video chip, or perhaps temporarily used its own driver -then didn't switch back to your usual driver when exiting. Lots of possibilities. If you look in Device Manager (kt tells you how in his post), and you click the little plus sign next to "Display Adapters" - what do you see? You can try this in Safe Mode, too. I'll check back in a little while, got some system work to do. . . . Gary |
