Win2k hibernates by itself

I have an MSI Ultra845 mobo and I want to enable hibernate for when I want the pc to do it, but when I do, the PC hibernates by itself intermittently. Usually within a few minutes of starting but not always. BIOS settings enable acpi but otherwise power settings are disabled. Win2k power settings are "always on" except that hibernate is enabled. Is there any way I can trap the event that's causing this? (or just prevent it?)
