IE 5.5 Right Mouse Click Menu Customized Pest
When I am in Internet Explorer 5.5 and I right click my mouse, The various selections come up like "back, select all, create shortcut," and a number of others. Somehow, I suppose a website or download I utilized installed a shortcut to their website on my shortcut bar so now when I right click, the website is one of the selections on my shortcut bar. I would like to remove this but I do not know how.

Hi westredi
and Welcome to PC Mechanic. It's funny that you should ask this question, since I just read a question almost exactly like yours by dldz over in the General Software forum: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=50163 Hal mentions that if you have TweakUI installed, you might be able to remove it from one of the option screens in TweakUI. I don't know the location in the Registry that has the key for that menu, but as I replied in that thread, you might be able to find it somewhat quickly by searching in regedit with the "Find Next" option from the Edit menu. You'd make a backup of your Registry before making any changes. Best of luck . . . Gary |

Hey westredi, Welcome to PCM...
I had the same problem as Gary R mentioned. You can see what I did HERE just go to Start and restart in DOS mode. then type in scanreg/restore and select a date to restore before your menu got hijacked it will tell you to reboot then things will return to normal. If you still have trouble please repost so we can help you. Good Luck Don |
