Key-shortcuts in English and Dutch Windows versions
Is the symbols table (which can be found in word when you want to insert a certain specific symbol) replaceble? Where can I find this file (if it's replaceble)?
The problem is that we discovered that there where differences between the key-shortcuts (of the symbols) in the different language versions of Windows. Because of a project at school we want to make sure people can work with the same symbol key-shortcuts in English and Dutch Windows versions. Hope somebody can help me out here? PiC |

Dunno if this will help or work (I'm using Word 97).
From the file menu using Insert>Symbols, the popup window provides a Character Map like applet. Symbols and Special Shortcut Keys are editable and once edited changes can be saved in Normal.dot or any other document or template. If normal.dot is used, then this is the default for all users on that PC since the normal.dot provides the basic template for the default workspace. Finally save the edited normal.dot template to all PC's that need the same settings. Last edited by JustinLerner; 12-12-2002 at 11:40 PM. |

But this works only for Word if you open the new template. The problem is that we want to let it work for the complete Windows version and not only for Word in this case.
So there has to be a central file/database with characters which should be replaced. I don't know if this is possible and I don't know where I can find this file. Is there somebody who has a solution? PiC |
