CD Drive Labels
Hello,
Is it possible to label a CD drive in windows explorer in the same manner as you would a hard drive? I have several CD drives on my computer and a name like "HP CD writer" would be a great benefit. Thanks |

Not that I know of.
You CAN assign each drive it's own unique drive letter though. I use R for Reader (standard CD-ROM), W for Writer (burner), and V for dVd player... |

I don't think you can either...probably because of the fact that the name changes every time you insert a CD to display the name of the inserted CD.

If anything; I would say you can do it in the registry. But I don't know how.

Nope, you can't even do it in the registry. The system gets the name of the cd directly off the cd, not through the reg.
If you wanted to get fancy, (depending on make/model of your devices) you could change the drive letters to H for HP, L for LG or Liteon, S for Sony...
