I quit using EXCD and now use NERO. I think the problem you are having is that window xp basically has EZCD built into it, so you need to go into services and disable the built in CD-Burning program

To disable Win XP burning features go to Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services and double click "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service" select disable and then click OK.
Or you can right click your CD burner icon, go to Recording and uncheck "enable CD burning..."

Thumbs up

Make sure you have the XP patches from Roxio's website, and when you put in a CD/RW when useing EZCD creator it will "lock" the cd in the drive until you click on the Direct CD icon then you can eject it . It's weird i hate it too but thats what i do works fine.....

I have been useing xp-pro and xp cdre burning together for over a year with no problems, also in the systems I have built for others , with no problems.

make sure that your useing the correct programs update for xp.

roxio has one just for xp, ezcd creater for xp.

ezcd ver. 5.0 will not work with xp without the update.
