built my computer about a year ago and was wondering if i should update my BIOS? heard i was supposed to do that eventually. not sure if i want to do it though, afraid something bad might happen. i have an epox 8kha+ motherboard. how do i update BIOS anyways and is it really necessary and worth it? thanks.

Hi bhome83,
Most people say to Not update unless you're having problems. Personally, I update for two reasons: 1) the update sez it fixes problems (maybe some "other" problems are not actually "other" problems...), and 2) if new features are added, like better / higher CPU support. HTH TwoRails |

I'm old school. If it is working fine, I leave it alone. Now if you are having problems and BIOS update description seems to address the problem then it would be time to update. Otherwise leave sleeping dogs lie.

I also have a 8KHA+ I just upgraded the bios to 8hi2bo6 (11/06/02) so I could use the new xp2400+. If you are not planning to upgrade your processor and everything is working fine there is no need to change your bios.
