Boom cant load

Can anyone help me?I finally get a friends computer to run .I replaced the power supply.Now when I try to load win 98 it loads till it gets to the drivers.After it tries to initialize its driver database it stops .I tried installing at least a dozen times.It gets to this point and stops.The system is an Abit main board with AMD 1200 procesor.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Without a little more info the only thing that comes to mind is to strip down to just what you need to get PC and windows up and running (Processor,memory,HD, CDROM & vid card only). Are you getting any POST errors or beep codes. Perhaps set BIOS to defaults.
