Question CD-RW driver problem- I think

I recently re-installed windows xp home edition, and since this fresh install, my CD-RW drive hasn't been working. When I installed Roxio and tried to burn a cd, it put an icon on my tool bar that looks like this. It says DirectCD, no supported drive! when my mouse is over it. It's just a picture of a cd drive with an x through it. There aren't any drivers to install on the cd that came with it, only drivers for 2000. it says that xp already has the required drivers. It's a PlexWriter 40/12/40A. Any idea how to fix tihis? Thanks.

Check with Roxio for an update to the program to add more writers to the supported list.

Earlier this week I installed two burners into two diff machines. One was a 16x and the other a 32x. Both machines had Roxio 5 Platinum, and neither recognized the newly installed drives. I had to d/l and install version 5.3.2.34 patch from Roxio. That fixed them right up

Unhappy

I downloaded and installed the newest update from Roxio, and I'm still getting the same error. I don't think it's a problem with updates because I had Roxio basic working on this same computer without any problems before i re installed Windows. The icon in the system tray is gone, but i'm still getting the runtime errors. Thanks for the help so far.

I have seen problems with EZCD and Windows XP as the XP program is basically the same Roxio software.

they will work together nicely, without any problems, at least I have not run into any yet in the last 6 builds.
