hi,
one of the many burning programs ive tried has made it so my auto insert is tuned off on my cdrw drive...the volume label also does not show up or will remain the same no matter what disc i put in...how do i set it back in windows xp? TIA :-) |

in my computer right click on the cd drive and go to properties you shoud have ane option for autoplay

down load the tweak ui program part of the power toys for windows and install on the computer tab is the option to enable auto play the program can be downloaded from the microsoft web site

go to regedit, Hkey_localmachine/system/currentcontrolset/services/cdrom. Change value to 1 for autorun on, 0 for autorun off. I found this by doing a search on another forum. I was looking for it because my hard drive led was flashing about once per second. It flashes because when autorun is on, windows is looking for a disk in the drive about once per second. I left it off on my machine.
