WinXP cant detect my Monitor
I've bought a pc that came with a lcd monitor model LW-851. When I install win98, it is automatically detected but my Geforce2 graphics card is not and has problems installing. However, when I upgrade to winxp, my graphics card has no problem but winxp can't detect my monitor automatically. I've searched for drivers for LW-851 but can't find any. Can anyone pls help? Pls send to my email : scout_54@yahoo.com as I've posted on many forums. Thank you.

You are probably gonna be stuck using it as a default plug and play monitor. It is from JOVIAL TECHNOLOGY CO and from the looks of their website they are an exporter who buys products instead of manufacturing them.

Default monitor
The problem is I cant even use it as Plug and Play monitor. I'm stuck at default monitor. If I install win98, it can detect my monitor as LW-851. But for winxp, it can't. Even if I use add/remove hardware, I can't detect it. The "monitor" is not even in my device manager.

The only thing I can tell you to do is to E-Mail the Company that distributed the monitor or contact the person you bought the computer from.
I do not mean to come down on you, but it is very important when buying a computer from a builder or from E-Bay (which I avoid, and have seen many people burned on) that you know what you are getting and to do some research on the componants in order to find out what suppport will be like. |

My distributor is Digitek ( Singapore ) which has closed down. When we purchased the pc, they said our monitor was produced by samsung. But theres no product from samsung that has the model LW-851. After some research on the web, I found that LW-85 series was produced by LongWell. I don't have much understanding of that company but has posted them an email. They have yet to reply. The weird thing is that when when the pc 1st came, they had winme preinstalled and everything worked perfectly. I upgraded the system to xp later on and it was still fine. 3 wks ago, it started having this problem. So I wasn't sure what as happening.

Is this it ?
I wasn't able to find any drivers but I found several companies, mostly promo companies had them under several different names. Maybe one of them would be kind enough to send you the driver. But from the looks of the sites I wonder if they would have access. I found a few hits on Google by searching for the model number. |

if your windows 98 loads the driver then a copy of the driver must be on the win98 cd in the driver cabs folders try the update driver wiz and have it look in the win 98cd this may work with winxp if not note the driver name and search for it an drivers guide at

The membership from driversguide.com is free; it might be better for the maintainer of the repository (especially if their sponsor is also looking at the userer-base) to create a new account.
