Hi,

Does it happen right at startup? If so check your startup folder and also at this place in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Do you see wcs.exe or something that would use it at any of those places?

HTH

Thnks Floppyman
I deleted it from the startup folder. I dont know what it was since this was my mother in laws system. It had over 400 virus's though after scanning it. She now owns Mcafee. I seaerched google for the wcs.exe and couldnt find much related to it other than open gl video probs and directx. Oh well, have to reformat and clean install win2k for her now since many files had to be deleted cuz tthey couldnt be cleaned.
Thanks again

Hi,

Glad you found it. I was searching on google too and couldn't come up with much. Besides a AV program, also download AD-Aware from www.lavasoft.de. Great tool and free at that. HTH

Yeah I use Ad Aware, it is nice. From what I could tell the virus's were only 3 found but they had replicated themselves to total over 400 infected files.
Thanks everyone.
