I encrypted some files with WinXP and after I have ReInstalled the Operating System I do not have access to the files (about 4GB). Is there any chance to recover them?

This is a good read on how to use the file encryption correctly - while this might not solve your issue (unless you did export your keys), it will advise you on how not to be faced with such issues later.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;223316 Please note that, due to the sensitive nature of encryption and decryption without proper credentials, this board will not allow any information that can be deemed cracking (Please read the FAQ) |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont' Local Administrators have a File Recovery Cert, or is that only for the local admin of the initial install?
