Can't Access Windows XP, HELP!
Yesterday I was uninstalling a few unused programs and got the message that I should log off the other user before doing so. I ignored this message and continues\d on because I knew the other user was not using the programs I was uninstalling. After that i installed SureThing CD Labeler and it had to restart to complete the installation. Ever since then I couldn't get back into Windows.
THE PROBLEM I start the computer then it goes to a black screen and gives me the options to start Windows in: Safe Mode, Safe Mode With Networking, Safe Mode With Command Prompt, Last Know Good Configuration, and Start Windows Normally. I have tried all of these and the same thing happenes, It goes to the blue Scandisk screen, finishes that, then restarts itself and goes back to the black screen with the choices. It's stuck in a loop and I have tried everything. Can anyone help me? |

Maybe...
If it won't boot from the options listed the master boot record is toast. Try setting your bios to boot from the CDRom and put your XP CD in. Then shut it completely down. Next restart it. It will act like you are reinstalling. It will ask you if you want to repair the existing windows installation. Try to do the repair most of the time it works. |

Sometimes the REPAIR options on XP wont work. What I did when I had a problem like that was I opted to INSTAL XP on the same DRIVE letter and XP did not overwrite my existing Programs and Files, but all the list on my FAVORITES in my IE were gone though. There is a Manual Restore suggested by Micro$$$oft, but it's too tedious. I did not do it.
