How do I find the list of IRQs, that used to be in Computer Properties in 98se, in XP?

should be in the same place as 2k which i am running at work
CONTROL PANEL>ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS>COMPUTER MANAGEMENT> look under the system tools and click on system info> scroll down under Hardware resources and IRQ's should be right there. there is probally a shorter way to get there but that is the one i know HTH Zaney123 |

With windows XP you should have ACPI which means you should never have to worry about IRQ settings because XP handles it, very well too. You can look in system information and it will tell you the IRQ settings, but sometimes it will list several devices using the same IRQ when really there not.

Thanks guys.
I have ACPI disabled in bios, the computer previously ran 98se, and I wanted to know where everything I'd need to check is before I go back in and enabled it or flash the bios. The computer has a powerdown problem and I think it's because of ACPI being disabled. |

If it shuts down to the "it is now safe to shut off your computer" and you have to manually turn it off XP did not install the ACPI HAL layer.
The only good way to fix it is to reinstall XP. You can force it by pushing F5 when it tells you to press F6 to load SCSI drivers. It will offer you a menu of options giving you a choice of how you want to install. Only do this if you are sure have an ACPI compliant bios and XP doesn't recognize it as such. |

Thanks Tuf,
Going by the Power Management section in my manual the board, Epox8KTA3, is ACPI compliant. |
