CAB files??
Can someone explain what CAB files are in Win98 and what they are used for?

I think it's short for cabinet file. Basically, they take a whole bunch of files and compress them as one file. For instance, files A, B, C, D, and E could all be inside one file named helpfile.cab. That's why when you need a certain file it has to be extracted out of the cab file to be useable.

It's something like a zip file. One standard file format houses many different ones in one convient place.
