Are there any limitations on how many computers I can install a full version of W98se? I want to put it on my desktop and my laptop.

thanks.

Without a second liscense to install you are limited legally to installing your legal copy of Windows on one PC. Just read the EndUserLiscense Agreement (EULA), You know that thing we all click that we agree to and understand and have read. I recently read it to find out if you buy the upgrade version can you still use your old version on another PC, and the anwer was no. Another Member here though has recently posted though that he recently talked to a Microsoft represenative an they informed him that for WinXP is is legal to install on your desktop and 1 laptop. Go figure!

I just talked to a MS Rep about that last week, you can do that with Office XP NOT Windows XP.

No it won't because of having to activate it.

It will install. No problem. But after a month it will stop working. And whenever you try to activate it it will inform you that you cannot since that copy was already activated.

You can install 98 on as many computers as you have licenses for.

You can install any os you have to any computer you wish. It just isn't legal. The thing about XP and the one month thing is false. I know from experience. I don't know why everybody is saying it is illegal and everything. I guess they are against mp3s and file sharing too.

You don't have to activate win98 so if you want to install it on two PC'S just go ahead and do it. MS has no way of checking. I have done it regardless of what the license says.

The way I see it is as long as you don't share it with a friend its ok to installl on both PC's. I had a situation with MS about installing MS works 2002 on both of my PC'S and when I tried to activate by phone the rep said I could not. My response was I paid for it and I will install it on as many PC's as I own. I'm not sharing with someone else. After a long pause they activated it on my second PC.
