cant install xp.
my xp home edition wont install. it goes to the startup screen and checks a bunch of stuff then an error pops up. can anyone tell me how to fix this? this is for my new build that doesnt have any os installed.

check the compatable list to see if there is anything on your system that may cause any problem.

um
this is my system:
amd xp 2200 asus a7s333 mobo ati radeon 9000 pro samsung 512 mb ddr ram creative 52x cd rom starlogic floppy drive western digital 40 gb hd the error i get always seems to be different. the one i get the most it says: there has been an error and windows will be shut down. then it says alot of b/s then stop: 0x00000050 |

Install the OS with the bare minimum of hardware. Video, RAM, Hard Drive, Floopy, and CD-ROM. Assuming you got a CPU installed.
If that doesn't solve anything. Perhaps you can try another CD, or even put in a new stick of RAM and see if it was a RAM issue that wouldn't let you install XP. |

I had similar problem when installing xp. Solved by setting mobo to safe values.
