setting password on shared folder
How do you do this in XP Pro? I remember in 98 when you clicked on sharing you could define a full-access or read-only password right there, but not in XP.
Thanks ^dan |

With XP Pro, access to a shared folder is based on the user / group permissions. Simply put any usernames/usergroups to the level of access you want to give (right click on the folder/file > properties > security)

I thought you had to be using NTFS to password protect a folder?

what would i go about doing if i wanted to set a password just to look at my computer in my network places. i know it can be done while running the installation of xp, but i can't figure out how to do it otherwise. whe someone goes into my network places, i want them to see the icon of the computer that belongs to me, click on it, and have to enter a password to get in. if anyone knows, i would appreciates it.
