Restart upon Windows load

Ugh, I finally got my first computer build all set up and going, got Windows XP installed, even had installed almost all the drivers. I had just run Windows Update, downloaded drivers for my nForce2 chipset, and downloaded drivers for my mouse and ZIP drive, and I restart the computer like it asked me to. However, after the intial restart, the computer turns on normally and reaches the Windows desktop for about 2 seconds, then the comp restarts. Then the process repeats itself: Comp turns on, Windows loads, reach Windows desktop, restart. I cant uninstall whatever driver messed it up because I cant get into Windows long enough to do so. I could always just reintall XP since I hadnt done too much to it in the first place, but I'd rather not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

With WinXP as with previous versions of windows, just press that F8 key right after POST and BIOS screens to get a menu of options, one of which will be safe mode, from which you will be able to fix things.
I think there is a new one though that says load last known good configuration which may do the trick for you.

I don't get device drivers from M$, while they are well intentioned I don't believe they do a very good job identifying your hardware. Best to get your updates from the manufacturer's sites.
