How to turn off sound??

Dear Friends,

I have a windows98 system with soundcard. I was trying to record songs from tape to convert then to MP3 using my sound card. But , as the sound is enabled in Windows, while recording, if I make any movements or so, it will generate some sound anad the same is also recorded in the recording. Please help me to disable the sounds..

Regards

I believe what you want to do is go to:

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Sounds

From here you can enable/disable all of the Windows sounds that your computer makes.
