Win 98 - Realtek Advance Sound Drivers

Hey everyone,
I recently bought a KT3 Ultra 2 Motherboard and installed it. Everything seems to be working fine. The board comes with an onboard Realtek VIA KT333 AC97 Sound Codec... however.. the drivers are only for Windows 98SE and above (I have 98 First Edition :-/). I managed to use the Windows Device Manager to install the drivers (somewhat) and now my sound works. But, the sound gets incredibly fuzzy and extremely distorted very often. Does anyone know the problem and a possible solution? (I'm guessing it has to do with the driver files). Thanks in advance..

Bobby

Hi Bobby,

Have you tried installing the Win98SE drivers anyway? I don't see why they wouldn't work with Win98FE.
