Help - I need someone in that area who has time to take a look at a LAPTOP NT4 - I wrote about the other day - with internet connection problems to Tiscali- now my customer can connect but surfing is not available.. explorer comes back with can not open this page - .

Sounds like a DNS issue.

Try typing in the IP address of a site eg. 132.185.132.204 (bbc.co.uk) in the address bar of the browser.

If it will go to the website then it sounds like a problem with your ISP's DNS servers.

Try an alternative ISP. Or manually put in an alternative.
I've got a couple you can try if this is the case.

Tiscali's DNS server numbers are on one of those links I gave you in the other post.

Thanks Jim - it was a TCP/IP - Software Compression and also Gateway default error - now it works -

To the other fellow XPClone - you know I'm in Swiss not in England and thos people there called me up as they are also Swiss and have moved to England a few days ago - now as it happens those problems came up and I actually was looking for someone who would be able to help them over there...
