Win98FE and USB

Is it true that Win98 FE (lot's of visit to Win-update) does not support USB 1 or USB 2? I have have USB scanner to install. Does WinME support both USBs?

Hi fifi,

Win98FE supports USB 1 as I used it quite awhile and worked fine for me.

Cool

My HP scanner is hooked to a WIN98FE PC my wife uses. While XP seems a little more friendly with USB, I use the scanner and used a AGFA camera with WIN98 FE.

Windows 95B and up support USB, but Win95 not as good as Win98 and newer.

For USB 2.0 support you'll need the USB 2.0 drivers for the onboard USB or add-on USB 2.0 card if you don't have WinXP SP1, as Windows XP + Service Pack 1 is the only M$ OS so far with native USB 2.0 support.

Thanks RJ, Could I use the driver that came with the scanner on Win98 w/o installing XP?
