Talking Regarding Norton Ghost 2002

Can I copy the partition from 1 hard drive onto the partition of another hard drive? Some of the information I've read seems to indicate that will only copy an entire hard drive.

After I've copied that partition to the second hard drive will I be able to boot in to that partition and run my programs as I normally would? If so how do I do that, I know how to boot in to my bios on my Dell Computer but I'm not certain how make it start within a different partition. This is my computer set up

Dell Pentium IV 1.8 gigahertz
512 MB Rambus memory
40 GB 7200 RPM hard drive
ethernet card
cable modem
Windows XP
Dragon NaturallySpeaking software for speech recognition, version 6 preferred
pinnacle studio 7
Sony TRV 20 camcorder
Vegas video three editing software
Maxtor 80 GB 7200 RPM hard drive for video editing and backup

Yes... you can do partition to partition. It will make an exact clone, and will be bootable if it is a bootable partition to begin with.

I clone my C partition regularly to another drive to back it up. I don't leave my back up drive connected except when cloning or restoring(if needed). Ghost 2002 does a good job. You can also make image files that will be smaller but I am unsure of the reliability when restoring from one. It is supposed to be good but not as reliable as cloning the partition which I know works well on my computers.

Tuf,
I have made at least a 100 Ghost image files over the last 2 years and restored a lot of them (also ones burned to Cd) and have not had one failure yet. Ghost 6.5, Ghost 7 & 2003. Always verify the image after the creation thereof.
