Greetings From Texas
It started yesterday. I have not messed with trying to fix it until now. It is now getting on my nerves. This a a 17 inch View Sonic Monitor. A green tint pops in then out. I do know some things to try ,but wanted to take a short cut by asking here-------------Donald |

Hi Donald,
Is the correct monitor driver (inf file) installed and is the monitor correctly identified in Device Manager and Display Properties. Does the green tint extend to the whole screen? Does it happen when you are in the BIOS? Try it and see. Can you try the monitor with another PC and see if the problem still exists. If the problem still exists on another PC, then it could suggest a faulty cable or an internal fault with the guns. (A green tint usually means that the blue signal is missing). Try disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor cable, making sure there are no damaged pins. Try flexing and straightening the monitor cable and see if that helps. If the problem is not present when you test the monitor with another PC, then you could try booting into Safe Mode and removing the monitor and graphics card from Device Manager, rebooting and having both redetected. Also when in Safe Mode, delete any multiple listings for the monitor and graphics card (or old cards). HTH Last edited by mike breck; 01-04-2003 at 09:50 AM. |

Mike has given some good things to check. Viewsonic's FAQ's mentions that when you are missing a color, the first thing to check is the connectors and than check for bent pins. Carl |

If the cale is good and does it on another computer or with a different video card you might want to start looking for another monitor. Unless of course it is under warranty.

This happened to my Gateway 17" monitor and after a few checks it was determined that the monitor took a turn for the worse. Gateway sent out a new one. Hope this helps Tom

Hi Donald,It may be due to dust or lint inside your monitor, you may want to open it up and clear the dust from inside. After that, it should be fine. -PG. |
