Wink Windows XP?

I installed WinXP on a friends HP about two months ago. After
about a month it was telling him the hard drive was full and he
hardly had anything in it.So I reinstalled it again. He came to me yesterday and said that he has only installed two games and
that he's only showing 2gigs left out of an 8.4.
This pc is heavily trafficked between 4 different users and each time one signs off and another signs on it has to save those
settings...etc.
Is there anyway to get XP to overwrite the old settings with
the new ones instead of saving each time.....or am I missing
something?

He really likes XP and his HP is running a lot more stable with it.

Thanks for any help!
