Hi Alfie, what about doing a clean install after fdisk the HDD, setup from the cdrom and copy the cab files to the HDD?
That is the way I do it.

Alfie,
It is pretty easy to do and it makes it where you don't have to stick in the Windows CD every time something changes. Here are the steps that I use: (1) Create a directory (folder) called wmesetup or something similar. I usually do this on a partition other than the C: partition. This makes it easier to just Format C: later and not have to recopy the files. (2) Make a boot disk. Copy xcopy32.exe & xcopy32.mod to the boot disk. (3.) Boot off of the floppy. Make sure that your ME CD is in the CD-ROM drive. Type in xcopy32 X:\*.* Y:\wmesetup\ /S (where X is your CD-ROM drive letter & Y is the directory that you just created). This will copy everything from your CD-ROM to this directory. (4.) Go to the wmesetup directory and type in Setup. Voila that is it. In an hour you will more than likely have ME installed. Here is more detailed information on using Xcopy32 from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/support.../E9S88AUN8.ASP Hope this helps. |
