xp pro network password
my dad is kind of slow when it comes to computers. i go away for vacation for five days and he formats his computer 3 times. he bought xp pro, and during the installation it asked him if he would like to setup the network now. he figured this would be easier than doing it once xp was setup. well it asked him to setup a password for his pc, so he did. now, when i go into network places, and click on his pc, it asks for a password. problem is, he can't remember what the password is in the first place. is there anyway to reset this password? thanks. o and he does not have a login password at the login screen, he just clicks his button. thanks on advance

allright, that website has a lot of info, exactly what i am looking for, but when i got to click permissions, it says"This has been shared for administrative purposes. The permissions cannot be set." Any ideas on what this means, or how to fix it. essentially i cannot set permissions right now, and that is exactly what i need to do.

If your Dads account has Admin privileges he should be able to reset the Administrator account password via Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users then right click on the Administrator account and choose Set Password.
