disk failure

i got a harddrive failure. this phase pop up and i cant log on any where. NTLDR is missing. thanks

Try Booting with the XP CD, “I assume your OS is XP”, and going into the 'Recovery Console', you should do a 'FIXBOOT'. That should rewrite the files needed and get you up and going again.

Is there any data loss when using FIXBOOT?

That will work fine as long as your drive controller is supported by Windows, ie not an add on SCSI or PCI controller card.

No, you won’t loose any data using FIXBOOT. It reloads the files necessary to boot XP up again.

if it doesnt work do i got other choices. when i get to a prompt on winxp rescue area. i imput ( D:\fixboot c: ) it said write sucussful but when i reboot the system its like nothing happen, it still have that ( ntldr is missing thingi) thanks

no. i set the cd boot first / i know the disk still got something in it and i dint refomat it
