Has anyone tried hanging a Mac (w/OS X) on a network running Server 2000? If so, any pointers?

EtherTalk

EtherTalk allows a apple talk network protocols to run on a ethernet coxial cable. The ether talk card allows a apple pc to connect to a 802.3 ethernet network ethertalk software should be included with the card and will work with apple talk phase 2.

Works the same as any other network, never had a problem with my 2k server. Just mount the share as you would any other. Enterprise software won't work as it won't deploy to a mac, but everything else ought to be fine. You may want to install the appletalk protocol on the server to browse the mac. Although this shouldnt be necessary. The OS-X mac also supports active directory and roaming profiles, so your home directory can be stored on the remote server.

By the way, did you see the new powerbooks at Mac Expo?. Sweet. And Final Cut Express for $299. I know what im buying this weekend.

OEM,
Could you please explain how I would go about this; I'm a total newbie to Server 2000.

Make sure you have turned on windows file sharing in "system preferences" "sharing" on the Mac. press the apple key + K, this will allow you to browse for the server shares and mount them. On the 2k box, the mac should be available in network neighborhood and explorer.
