Weird popup showing when i visit websites

Like, Id go to my startpage,which is my homepage and a popup ad for Movieplace.com would show, Well, my parents walked in (My parents are cpu illiterate) so they think that i clicked it and that i was looking at an adult website, well, i xed out of the ad and showed my parents what happened and they were telling me to find the problem, so here i am

is there a way to remove it?

Try running adaware. It can be downloaded from www.lavasoft.com

Mozilla's browser has a built in setting that is a great pop-up stopper.
