Here we go, my excuse to load W2K on my main pc.
I'm getting the BSOD Fatal Exception has occured in 0028:C1A95714 in VXD (01) + 00083714 I had noticed that occasionally I would get a Illegal Operation popup when I played Hoyle Casino, then Eudora Lite, and now PC-Cillin and now the pc won't go to the Desktop and I get the BSOD above. Any idea where to start? Carl |

Try running some spyware see if it can find the error, I did some google searches on
BSOD Fatal Exception has occured in 0028:C1A95714 in VXD (01) + 00083714 no search results that were useful for me came up. The best thing to do is run the spyware, or restore it back from where it began. |

Kubie - You could Boot into safe mode then MSCONFIG disable everything from Start and then restart - you can enable the drivers later and find out which one it is - but does it happen that you might either have the wrong sound drivers installed for your soundcard - this would be the closest to the error you get.

Before I read these replies, I booted into Safe-Mode and did a system maintenance. Scan Disk,(thorough), Defrag, and Scanreg /fix from a Command prompt.
I uninstalled PC-Cillin and reinstalled. Whatever I did seemed to fix it for now. No more Illegal Operations or BSODs. Hpro, as far as the sound card drivers are concerned, I currently have onboard sound with the drivers from the mobo cd and have it disabled in msconfig. This coming week I will have a Creative SB 5.1 to install for alittle better sound. I have made the decision to change the O/S to W2K as I use it on my other pc and really like it. Thanks fellas for the help and info, Carl |
