Cant get it setting for my burner
Hi, I just got a new HI-VAL CD burner, and I installed it, anyway, in the directions for installing my Nero burning software, it says before I do anything, I should turn off my "AUTO INSERT NOTIFICATION", and this is what it tells me to do:
1. Right click on "my computer" icon, select properties 2. Select the "Device Manager" tab 3. Click on CD-ROM icon until I see the name of my CD recorder 4. Select the recorder and click on "Properties", then go to "Settings" tab, and deselect the "Auto Insert Notification" But when I try and do this, I get to device manager, and I see my HIVAL burner, and I select it, hit properties and all that comes up is a screen that says this device is working properly. I think the directions they gave me for windows 2k or somehting, cause it doesnt appear to be the correct diractions for XP...what do you guys think? P.S. is nero a good burning software? Its nero 5.5 or something I believe

I'm running XP and Nero also. I tried the instructions you provided and could not find settings and Auto Notification either. I just installed the burner (Lite-On) and installed Nero. That's the beauty of buying white box, I don't confuse myself with instructions.
