Browser Email disconnect

OK I'm having a very weird problem. When my computer sits for any length of time I can't connect to the internet with IE 6 or Outlook Express 6.Now Netscape 7 has started to do it too.I'm on DSL and all of my instant messaging programs work right.Running XP and I can ping everything.Norton antivirus is up to date and runs everyday, comes up clean.Any help would be appreciated.

I have dsl and it too was causing problems until I updated my dsl modem drivers, you may want to go to your modem manuf. and see if there are any updates for your modem, also check with your isp could be line problems.
