One Last Problem
a couple of days ago i mentioned that i had bought a new hard-drive, anyways i succesfully managed to install my new drive as the master and my old one as the slave.
if you are wondering why i never formatted my old drive, it's becuase i was planning on just simply dragging my important files such as emails, favourites etc... etc.. accros into there relavant places on my new drive. this is where the problem occurs. When trying to access my old user area on my old drive it doesn't let me in, saying that the drive is not accessible... Access Denied! Is there anyway of getting at this infomation without have to gointo my computer again and swap the old drive to the master and copy every thing the long way around?? |

Can you give a little more information, such as the file system of the old drive, as well as the version of Windows it was created under?
By "user area" I assume you mean you are trying to access "\Documents and Settings\username". Depending on the security setup and whether you were using NTFS, you may only be able to access that directory with your old user account. In that case, you will find getting your old files considerably more difficult. |

try seting up a new user using the same name and password as on the old drive if that dont work you nead to swap your drives or remove the new drive boot from the old drive and remove the password change your drives back boot from the new drive and try to copy aggen.the only other option is to boot from the old drive and use the files and setings transfer wizard and save the exported file on the root of the old or new drive
