pci universal serial bus
i just put a computer together and in windows 98 se in the system\device manager there is an alert for "Other Devices"
the componetes are as follows: p4 2.4 ghz 533 fsb albatron mobo px845pev pro radeon 9000 pro 256 mb pc 2700 ram 40 gb wd caviar hdd 7200 rpm windows 98 se he says he has downloaded all the updates for windows so that is done. however the motherboard does have two additional headers for front of the case usb ports, wich we did not use because the case does not have the front ports built in. i think that may be the problem. if it is would i just need to disable the ports in windows, or in the bios? |

You should be able to turn them off in BIOS, or run the install program from the motherboard CD.

There are no USB 2.0 drivers for Win98, unless the manufacturer of your PCI USB card has some. (unlikely).
