Please help...shutdown/logoff

I just installed window xp to my pc, and when I log off/shutdown my computer...it always says "it is safe to turn off your computer" Is there anyway to skip this? Can I shutdown my pc automatically? Thanks a lot.

Your computer doesn't shut off automatically? It should.

What kind of background programs do you have running on your computer? What antivirus are you using?

Did you do a clean install of WinXP or did you upgrade Win98 or WinME to WinXP?

Check this website: Windows Support Center.

Oh, that usually leads to all kinds of problems (depending on the setup).

Is doing a format and clean install of WinXP an option for you?
