I have found these sites to be very useful for learning about services in 2K/XP:
http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm http://www.blkviper.com/WIN2K/servicecfg.htm It's good for letting you know what services are safe to shut down. M$ turns on a lot of useless ones by default (thanks, guys!), so the descriptions are good for tweaking. |
