If you already have a copy of win98 then buy the upgrade. if you do a format then try to install the win98se upgrage you will have to insert the win98 or win95 cd when asked to prove you have an original full copy, so you will need to keep the old 98 or 95 handy when doing a fresh install of the upgrade cd....
If you buy the full version then you can upgrade or do a fresh format install with the 1 cd win-98 se |

Hi elmo
Sounds to me like you already have what you need installed. Am I correct in reading your first post to mean that the computer Already has the Second Edition updates CD installed on it? In that case, you have the equivalent set of files to a full Win98 2nd Ed. installation. If Win98 original is updated with all the service packs, there is very little difference between the two. Second Edition does include Internet Connection Sharing, but there are better alternatives (from third party software) - especially if you have broadband. If your computer is stable and performing well, you have no need to upgrade anything. If you are seeking an increase in performance - a little system maintenance and perhaps some extra memory might be all you need. Best of luck: post again if you have more questions. . . . Gary |
