windows wont open campaq presaro
Checked a system for a friend--compaq-- when system is turned on it goes through normal boot up sequence and opens to a screen saver and the following messages appear
Mprexe---illegal oper msgsrv32---illegal oper vshwin32---illegal oper isdbdc---illegal oper each message comes up after closing previous one until the last one---System is now frozen or appears to be if I hit alt/ctrl/del the window appears but no explorer program is indicated---the window is blank--- After hitting a second time system goes into fatal exemption error--blue screen----I have also tried to reboot system with Quick restore disc from compaq but nothing happens all I get is a blank screen |

no thats the big problem it will come up to screen to go to safe mode but wont go into safe mode so I cant check anything---have gotten to screen windows is bypassing your startup files
himen is testing extended memory...done then get this message error loading user.exe you must reinstall windows. that is what I am trying to do but system wont accept the compaq quick rerstore |

do you have a copy of the opperating systom ie win98 or me if so use that and use the cd key from the compaq disk or the sticker on the case of the pc

already tried to use my copy of win 98 se with my win startup floppy but the compaq wont respond to it all I get with my copies is a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left hand corner

what modal of campaq presaro do you have and is it a desktop or laptop

desktop and not sure of model-but recovery disc list 7300and 7400 series numbers
