Anyone out there have any ideas on this problem?
Computer specs are: ME/1.0 GHz/64Ram/Office 2000/ This morning @ approx. 10:30 am, I was working in a word file that had a table inserted in it. I had to stop and perform another task so I minimized the word doc. opened another word document that also had a table inserted in it and then I got a black screen for a couple of seconds followed by a blue screen with the title WINDOWS at the top. It read: An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C0064E7D in VxD VREDIR(01) + 000030F1. This was called from 0028:C0033AE8 in VxD IFSMGR(01) + 00001098. It may be possible to continue normally. Press any key to attempt to continue. blah, blah, blah, This is the same message I always get. It is never possible to continue normally. I always have to do a hard shut down, however sometimes it will let me back in the system long enough to close any open programs. It will not let me open any programs and perform any work. A restart or reboot does not solve the problem. |

I agree with andy...
Word is one of the fussiest programs known to man. I have never seen a "normal" install of this program. The more RAM you have the better this proggy will behave..... |

Andy/Dan,
Thanks for the input…..I found the fix……Should anyone run into this problem in the future you must install the hot fix # Q293793…..Of course Microsoft makes darn sure you pay for the hot fix……This problems centers around log in scripts and having multiple shared files open on one workstation. Each workstation experiencing the problem must receive the update…Also, the RAM is on order. Thanks again for your help…. TVW |
