Deleting XP partition
I had a dual boot with ME on c: and XP on d: drive. I replaced the ME partition with a new XP install. This left me with 2 XP installs. As such I have copied across all files needed from the d: install on to the c: install. Now I want to delete the d: partition install. Firstly if I delete all the files from this partition will it effect the install on the c: drive. If not how do I then remove the bootloader.
[boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect Do I just edit it so it looks like: [boot loader] If not could you please tell me how to edit it Thanks |

Go ahead and delete everything from D. It's no longer in use.
Then remove the last line in boot.ini, so it looks exactly like this: [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect |
