Upgrade vs Fresh install

Hi everyone, I am about to upgrade 2 NT4 machines using the Windows 2000 prof upgrade cd of which I have bought 2 copies. However I would prefer to do a fresh install from a formatted HD for stability reasons. Will I have to fresh install NT4 and then upgrade it to 2000 or can I do a fresh 2000 install from this cd. I dont want to get this wrong as I have heard that Bill Gates can now remotely detonate any machine which violates any of his license agreements.

Thanks in advance

Hello:
I've not went from NT4 but every upgrade version I have used from Microsoft is able to be installed clean by itself. At some point it will search the Hard disk for previous version and when it does not find it , it will prompt you to put the CDROM disk from previous windows version in so it can authenticate that you do indeed qualify for the upgrade. I would be pretty sure the win2000 upgrade version will work the same way, so as long as you do have your NT4 disk handy, go for it!
