Config.sys
Friend of mine just upgraded to windows XP and he can't seem to find the folder where the Config.sys file is. I have win xp and I can't even find it on my computer. What folder is it located in?

First, do you have the "view all files" enabled? (shows all system and hidden files)

yes - they changed hte name in XP i just found out. Just need to know what's replaced it sort of.

Use the search for files function and search for config*.*
It's probably in the \\windows\system32 folder |

the config.sys to have any effectiveness will be on the root directory of the operating system. having said that there is no use for config.sys on XP.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that since win95, the only reason for autoexec.bat and config.sys is for backwards compatability with MSDOS. Except WinME where I see it does load autoexec.bat to find the windows directory.
